Confused!!!
This is not yet another attack. This is not a war as has been proclaimed by News Channels. This is quiet different from everything else that has struck India. Because this specifically targeted foreign nationals in an effort to damage the Indian Economy. And some mighty symbols of the economy were damaged. But the Nariman House is more interesting than Taj and Oberoi. Why Jews? Doesnt seem like a Pakistani tactic. Could only have been Al Qaeda. Or is it conspiracy involving both Al Qaeda and Taj.
The News that they planned to destroy the Taj, blow it up doesnt make sense to me. Why then will they storm in and attach. They could have taken flights like 9/11 and strike the building. The damage would have been worse. But the idea seems to be to psyche us utmost. That they could storm to the hotels at their will and strike against us is the most humiliating of it all.
What can the government do. A wholesome training is required. Currently most of our forces seem incapable of handling this sort of an attack. Security seem to be painstakingly bad, but how can every immigration, every plan be identified and stopped. Seems like too much of activities from the terrorists for a reactive government like in India to handle. Pro active strikes are blamed and reactive policies are also attacked. I am still surprised as to what a government can do.
But the lack of leadership is clear. Dr.Singh's voice was so uninspiring that even people who thougt we are strong would have had doubts. I wonder what a leader like Indira Gandhi would have done differently in this juncture. May be we need a strong leader somewhere and we dont see one anywhere around the corner. Narendra Modi is being projected as one, but he seems to be most insensitive. Going into Mumbai at this stage and saying Gujarat will give one crore to the officers killed was done all too early. He should have waited till the operation is completed. It seems like both the Modis Narendra and Lalit are more business like than humanitarian.
Need of the hour someone more concerned about the nation as such and strong as well. Hope we do find some leaders emanating from these ashes.
