Hail Dravid!!!

"Australia still favorites", "Australia can win the cup". No these are not front page news in Australian media. These are not opinions of retired cricketers. These are the opinions of our Indian team's beloved captain and coach.

What a great way to motivate one's team. Is this a form of match fixing. Is Rahul Dravid, already relinquished the cup to the defending champions.

I for once had lost most interest in cricket since Dravid took over the captaincy. You cant watch a match to see at the end of the game, the "Captain Courageous" saying, we have just won one game. We need to win two more in such a cautious way. It would sow doubts in the best of champions, leave alone the fresh ones.

What a great way of motivations. How much more motivating can a captain be. There is a great victory and your captain says "Beware!Touchwood, We still have two more games to win", instead of "Oh Yeah! We are the team to beat".

May be it is humility of the captain courageous. May be its lack of confidence or May be because we have an Australian coach or May be its because he is sold out. But surely not a quality of the man leading from the front.

It would probably take a great effort to win the cup inspite of Dravid and Chappell. But the paradox of the effort would be in Dravid and Chappell celebrating that acheivement. For once Iam not supporting my nation to win the cup, I would love to see the Men in Blue win, But I wouldnt want to see Dravid taking the trophy and posing as the Next kapil Dev.

If only something could happen along the way and we could have a change of captain!!!
